Capt. David Fisher

Charter with an Experienced, Knowledgeable, and Local Captain

Capt. Fisher is a full-time resident guide offering fishing charters year-round. In 1985, at age 14, he began working as a mate for local charter captains. His service in the industry has continued yearly without interruption. From these early fishing roots he developed a vast knowledge of the waters surrounding the Northern Neck and became proficient in utilizing local angling techniques. After graduating from Appalachian State University, he returned home to the Northern Neck, received his USCG Captain’s license in 1998 and started Fisher’s Bay Charters the following year. A business that began with the “SILVER MIST” (the smallest inspected charter boat in the area) , through a dedication to hard work and a commitment to customer satisfaction, has now proudly evolved to the “HERITAGE” (possibly the largest inspected charter boat in the area).

Doug Boarman

Mate- Doug Boarman

Doug began earning his experience as a mate aboard the Heritage many years ago along side his Father, Joe Boarman, who was mate at the time. When he turned 16 he filled the full time mate’s position for about a year before moving on to learn other trades.  While away, Doug gained a lot of experience on various fishing vessels as well as tugboats.  Currently he works aboard a tugboat for two weeks on and two weeks off.  While off the tugboat, he is 1st Mate aboard the Heritage.  He holds a 100 ton masters license and is fully capable of operating the Heritage.  In his free time, Doug hand makes the trolling lures used to fish the Heritage.  For more information about his lures you may contact him through his Facebook page, Whisker’s Fishing Lures.

Carter McGee

Mate- Carter McGee

Carter began working as mate aboard the Heritage in 2019, I am proud to say he is also my stepson.  During the 2 weeks that Doug is on the tugboat Carter fills the Mate’s position.  He is an exceptionally hard working and intelligent young man who is eager to please and ready to do whatever is necessary to help provide for a successful fishing trip.  While still attending high school (Governor’s School), he is also involved in a multitude of activities including; the swim team, golf team, track, JROTC, and a volunteer at the food bank. While working as mate on the Heritage, he also works as part time mate on two other area charter boats in order to gain added experience and sea time toward achieving his own captain’s license.

Fish the "HERITAGE" and Experience the Difference

The HERITAGE

The HERITAGE was custom built for Capt. Fisher in 2006 in Crisfield, MD.  She is 53 ft long by 16 ft wide and USCG certified for up to 40 passengers in the Chesapeake Bay.  Powered by a reliable 580 hp Caterpillar diesel engine, she can easily transport you to the fishing grounds and safely back home.  Her electronics include; two Furuno Navnet 12 inch displays for both gps mapping and a 64 mile radar along with a Furuno digital depth finder and a Hummingbird side scan sonar for added fish finding ability, 2 VHF and CB radios, an EPIRB and life rafts.

Each year we undergo a thorough USCG inspection to maintain reliability and safety for our patrons.  The heated cabin is large enough to seat 8-9 passengers with additional seating located just outside the cabin in the cockpit area which has both a large awning and side curtains to provide comfortable protection from the elements of the sun, wind and seas.

Capt. Fisher and his mates pride themselves on cleanliness and will challenge anyone/anytime to find a cleaner more well maintained Charter boat anywhere!
